Kooks 3" x 2-1/2" stainless X-pipe — the bolt-in race mid-section between Kooks 3" collector long tubes and the OEM-style 2-1/2" exhaust on the late SN95 4.6L Mustang. X-pipe geometry balances exhaust pulses between cylinder banks for smoother top-end power. Competition only — no cats; off-road / track use only. Ball-and-socket header connection accommodates thermal expansion.
Fits 1999-2004 Ford Mustang GT and Cobra with the 4.6L 2V or 4V engine. Requires Kooks long tube headers with 3" collectors. The 2-1/2" outlet connects to the OEM exhaust at the factory connection point. Right configuration for cars running 3" collectors but keeping the OEM cat-back.
Kooks Headers & Exhaust has been hand-building stainless headers and exhaust systems in Statesville, North Carolina since 1962. Every mid-section is welded by experienced fabricators in the same shop where the company's racing legacy was built. 16 gauge 304 stainless construction handles thermal cycling and salt-belt corrosion.
Clamps are included with the X-pipe. Pair with Kooks 1999-2004 4.6L 3" collector long tubes upstream and the OEM cat-back (or a Kooks 2-1/2" aftermarket cat-back) downstream.
