Kooks 2-1/2" stainless X-pipe — the bolt-in race mid-section for cars running Kooks long tubes with 2-1/2" collectors. X-pipe geometry promotes balanced scavenging between cylinder banks for smoother top-end power and the cross-bank sound character X-pipes are known for. Competition only — no cats; off-road / track use only. Ball-and-socket header connection accommodates thermal expansion without leaks.
Fits 1999-2004 Ford Mustang GT and Cobra with the 4.6L 2V or 4V engine. Requires Kooks long tube headers with 2-1/2" collectors. The 2-1/2" outlet connects directly to the OEM exhaust at the factory connection point. Right choice for cars keeping the stock cat-back while running Kooks long tubes.
Kooks Headers & Exhaust has been hand-building stainless headers and exhaust systems in Statesville, North Carolina since 1962. Every mid-section is welded by experienced fabricators in the same shop where the company's racing roots were established. 16 gauge 304 stainless construction stands up to thermal cycling and salt-belt corrosion.
Clamps are included with the X-pipe. Pair with Kooks 1999-2004 4.6L long tubes upstream and either the OEM cat-back or a Kooks 2-1/2" cat-back downstream.
