Our Traction Board Mount.
A simple clamshell-style mount that bolts to one or two crossbars and gives you easy-access storage for your traction boards. No more wrestling with perfectly aligned MaxTrax mounting pins on four corners.
Tested with two and four MaxTrax and ActionTrax boards. Also compatible with two Xbull boards (clamp on the middle hole). Compatibility with other brands isn't guaranteed.
The top arm clamps down on the traction board to hold it in place. The board teeth fit inside the clamp so the boards can't move forward or backward. Rubber edge trim on the clamp protects the boards from the edge pressure. The clamp tightens to a welded stainless threaded stud on the base using the included rubber knob — or the included nut and lock washer for a little more security. Holes next to the threaded stud accept a lock. Hinge bolts are tamper-resistant Torx button screws; a matching Torx security L key is included.
Adjustable for two or four boards by switching the clamp elevation via the hinge bolt position.
Board position isn't critical — the boards don't have to be exactly centered. Just keep the clamp somewhere in the center third of the boards. That way you can shift boards forward or backward in the clamp to make room for other items on your rack.
Stainless steel construction, raw finish. No need to paint before install, but you can customize with your own paint if you want.
