One of the most important armor pieces, the front skid takes the brunt of rock hits, bottom-out impacts, and general off-road abuse. We built this skid to stand up to that punishment.
Constructed of either .185" steel or .25" aluminum, with an oil filter access door using countersunk bolt holes and a welded backing plate for durability. Aluminum is NOT recommended for rock crawling. The Wide skid is not offered in aluminum.
The Wide skid, designed in conjunction with Apex Overland, is 6" wider than the standard skid. It adds some cover for the cam bolts on a front strike and gives a wider surface area for sliding on rocks.
Available in a raw finish (no coating) or with powder coating. There is NO warranty on powder coating on skids given how they're used - this includes shipping and handling marks on powder. If powder finish is a concern, order raw and get them coated locally.
