The Ruggedized Crossbar design uses a row of mounting slots to make bolting on accessories simple, and works with M8 T-nuts as well.
Side rails are built as a single piece with multiple bends for strength and rigidity, then finished in the same UV-stable automotive grade powder coating as the Ruggedized Crossbars.
All carbon steel construction with black powder coating. Standard steel racks should be touched up if scratched to prevent rust.
Hardware is Grade 8.8 M8 bolts in a harsh-environment coating, with Nordlock washers and nuts. Nordlock washers resist vibration and take serious torque to back off once tightened - they will not shake loose on the trail.
Toyota rates the roof at a maximum dynamic load of 300 pounds.
